Brave is roughly half the speed of Chrome on Android, running a connection speed test

Description of the issue:
Brave is consistently under performing compared with Chrome. It is usually around half the speed.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch Brave
2. Visit google.com; search speed test; click the Speed Test button
3. Repeat on chrome.

Actual Result:
Chrome always wins Brave by a factor ranging from 1.3 to 5.

Expected Result
Chrome wins half the time and Brave wins half the time

Reproduces how often:
Always

Brave Version:
Brave 1.15.73, Chromium 86.0.4240.75

Chrome Version:
Chrome 85.0.4183.127

Reproducible on current live release (yes/no):
Yes

I’m using Android 10 on 4G mobile data

Hello! But see how much trackers are blocked from speedtest.net, how much trackers blocked from google. With chrome that trackers running without difficulty!

Are you saying that blocking of items actually slows down the connection? Brave was sold as being fast, precisely because it doesn’t bother with ads/trackers.

Or are you saying that Brave offers the benefit of not tracking me? In this case I would respond that the concern here is performance, not tracking.
