Hello, when I’m watching a movie from a site, my iphone keeps auto-locking after 30 secs even when I have it set to 3 mins. Can you create an option in Brave setting where users can set auto-lock to 30 secs, 1 min, 2 min, or never? Please be more user friendly, can’t have my screen locking out after I paused the video.
I want this too, but because it interferes with airplay on my Apple TV. When my phone is locked while I’m watching something, pausing or skipping back or forward just automatically stops playing and the progress of whatever I’m watching goes back to the very beginning.
It is so frustrating.
Hello Brave Team,
This auto-lock issue on Brave iOS can definitely be frustrating, especially when watching videos, as it disrupts the viewing experience. Adding an option in Brave’s settings to control auto-lock timings (like 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes, or even a “never” option) would give users much-needed flexibility. This way, users won’t have to worry about the screen locking when watching or pausing videos. A similar feature on apps like MagisTV has made streaming more seamless, so including this on Brave would make the app more user-friendly and responsive to real viewing needs.
Thanks a Lot!!
I’m not sure I understand — the auto-lock feature is a iOS system feature, not a Brave feature. This is controlled by the OS and should be the same regardless of which app you’re using. None of this is handled by Brave.
Do you see this behavior (the device auto-locking) when using other browsers or apps?
On my end, I’ve had my iPad open and playing a video (not full-screen) for about 5 minutes now without the screen locking. I initially had the Auto-lock
set to Never
but eventually changed it to 2 minutes just to be sure and I cannot reproduce the issue.
Hi Rachel,
I understand how frustrating it can be when your screen auto-locks while you’re trying to enjoy a movie. Unfortunately, the current settings in iOS often override app-specific preferences, and Brave doesn’t yet offer an option to control auto-lock directly within its settings.
As a workaround, you can temporarily disable the auto-lock feature on your iPhone. Go to Settings > Display & Brightness > Auto-Lock and select Never while you’re watching movies. Just remember to reset it afterward to save battery life.
Alternatively, if you’re into streaming content seamlessly, consider exploring MagisTV Premium. It’s an excellent IPTV service that works perfectly across devices, offering a user-friendly experience without interruptions like auto-locking, so you can enjoy your favorite shows and movies hassle-free.
Hope this helps!
