Brave hasn't been giving me any ads for months now, and Gemini had disconnected, but won't reconnect

Briefly describe your issue: Starting on January 14, 2022 I stopped receiving Brave Ads. I’ve tried looking on google, I’ve tried doing everything that all the community posts have suggested and nothing starts giving me Ads again. I’ve received Ads in the past, and it’s been paid out correctly, but randomly it just stopped. My Gemini account is no longer connected as it’s done the security thing to disconnect every couple of months, and it won’t reconnect. I login to Gemini, enter everything I need to, and then I get to allowing Brave access to Gemini. I click ‘Allow’, it takes me to the Brave Rewards page saying that its processing my request, and then it errors out with ‘Sorry there was a problem processing your request, please try again.’. I’ve tried logging in again, clicking try again, and every time I do it gives the same error. Initially the not receiving Ads was frustrating, but I would have dealt with it since I couldn’t figure out how to fix it, but now that this other issue has popped up, its finally prompted me into making an actual support thing about both of these.

There might be a possibility of my account being flagged, though I didn’t want to immediately go and bug one of the few Mods about it without making a community post first. Realistically, the Gemini thing, while annoying, is not the end of the world as I can still login and see the balance as long as rewards are still actually transferred. The not receiving rewards is the larger issue I’m facing.

What Operating System and Brave version are you using (Menu --> About Brave)? I’m on Windows and Brave version is: 1.36.119.

Is your browser wallet currently verified? (yes/no) Yes? It has been in the past, but I’m not sure if it still is right now.

What date did you verify your wallet? I don’t remember exactly, though I believe it was somewhere around mid October to early November of 2021.

Have you been able to successfully receive payments in the past? Yes.

Are you using a VPN? (yes/no) Sometimes I do, but I never set it outside of the US, and turning it off hasn’t fixed any of it.

Are you in a supported region (see here for list of supported regions)? Yes, I’m in Missouri

Does your device pass the SafteyNet check (Android only)? N/A

Have you manually turned off Auto-contribute on all of your devices linked to Uphold?? I don’t use Uphold, however I have turned off Auto-Contribute on everything anyways due to none of the websites I visit/Creators I watch accepting BAT.

Hi, I am having the same issue. Ads randomly stopped working for me and I haven’t been able to kick-start them again… I only recently linked Brave and Gemini (Feb I think) but was expected to receive my first (and very small) DAT amount into my previously linked Gemini account, which hasn’t occurred. Equally, on severing and relinking my wallet to Gemini, I consistently receive the same error message you have identified. I suspect you have read the same article(s) I have about a similar bug that was recently fixed, however from what I can piece together there are small users who are still reporting issues… I haven’t seen anything as detailed and specific as this request and it relates to my situation almost exactly (however I am in Australia and also rarely use VPNs - I keep them in Aus if used). I think it is important for Brave and Users to be aware this is occurring to multiple users… I will follow this thread with hope we see some activity :slight_smile:

I am likewise having the same issue. I have not received Brave rewards on one of my devices since December and I have recently tried to verify my wallet with Gemini and now receive “Sorry there was a problem processing your request, please try again.”

I was about to post a new thread; but found this.

I’ve had the same issue as above. after some back-and-forth with the lovely intelligent people at Gemini…

here’s their latest email to me regarding the issue:

Thank you for following up!

We are able to accept BAT, the issue is that we can’t link our Gemini account with Brave anymore.

Additionally we thank you for the recommendation regarding the instructions that are still available in the platform. Gemini is constantly trying to better our services and your feedback is a very important part of that. I will be sure to pass this on to my team.

The feedback they mention is me listing ALL of the links on their site that says “BRAVE + GEMINI” and how we CAN in fact link our brave wallets to Gemini for reward collections.
