Brave downloading / sending data at startup when in background

Description of the issue:

Hello.

So I happened to notice that Brave connects to several servers/IPs at startup and downloads/sends quite alot of data.
First I thought that it was just the newsarticles on the startpage that loaded in the background but then I saw that the connections were still open after changing page so I’m not sure what to think.

I would just like to post a couple screenshots and perhaps someone could just confirm that this activity is not malicious ?

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.

1. Start Brave browser
2. Do nothing
