Brave doesn't resolve domains via VPN

Description of the issue:
I’m running my internet traffic via Tailscale VPN where i have a exit node with PFSense preventing remote DNS, so only DNS provided by PFSense is allowed. Whenever i activate the VPN Brave stops being able to resolve domains.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Have PFSense running with Tailscale
  2. install tailscale on the machine and set exit node to the pfsense machine
  3. try loading a website that isn’t cached.

Expected result:
The website should be loading

Brave Version( check About Brave):
1.48.158 Chromium: 110.0.5481.77 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information:
Both chrome and edge share the same result
The websites are loading fine on Firefox with cache disabled

Are you using Secure DNS settings in Brave?

If not, what if you enable it and try one of the major included providers?
