Brave does not recognize bookmarks after Windows reactivated

Description of the issue:
About 2 weeks ago I received a notice that Windows had expired (in 1968?). Maybe I received an old version of Windows when I purchased the laptop a few years ago? After I reactivated Windows, Brave does not recognize my bookmarks even though I can see the two files “bookmarks” and “bookmarks.bak” in the C:\Users.…\AppData\Local\BraveSoftware\Brave-Browser\User Data\Default folder.
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. I have no idea.

Expected result:
Ability to see tabs and bookmarks as seen before the Windows reactivation and that are in the file bookmarks.

Brave Version( check About Brave):

Additional Information:

Two things going on. Whenever you see odd error messages around Epoch time (January 1, 1970), suspect that there is a problem with your systems CMOS battery. Check the battery and system time and make sure everything is good there.

On the bookmark topic, do you have a bookmarks.html backup? If so, you can import them following these instructions (https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/articles/360019782291-How-do-I-import-or-export-browsing-data-)

If you do not, you can convert the bookmarks.bak to an importable bookmarks.html using (https://rongjiecomputer.github.io/chrome/bookmark-recovery/#windows)

Thank you so much. I had checked the date and time and no, I didn’t have an html file. Clearly I will make html backups in the future. The conversion to html worked immediately. Now I can see the Imported bookmarks. Again, thank you very much.
