Brave deletes history

This request is translated from german and I use Brave 1.39.122 on Mac OS 10.15.7.

I’ve been using Brave for about a year because Safari doesn’t have the history with timings. I need the history information to create my billing reports.

Although deleting browser history is disabled everywhere in “Brave Data Security” settings, lately the history is being deleted every few days. Mostly after updates but also otherwise.

In the top menu under History, the last items are still shown, but nothing is shown in the window “show entire history.”

Could anyone please give me a hint as to what I need to do to prevent the history from being deleted?

In order to NOT clear 'Browsing History`:

In a Brave Browser > New Window, go to: brave://settings/clearBrowserData

For tab On exit - set:

  • Disable: Browsing History

Click on the ‘Save’ button.

Return to: brave://settings/clearBrowserData

For tab Advanced - set:

  • Time range:All time
  • Disable: Browsing history

Click on the ‘Clear data’ button.

(The ‘Clear data’ button also saves the selections.)

Return to: brave://settings/clearBrowserData

For tab Basic - set:

  • Time range:All time
  • Disable: Browsing history

Click on the ‘Clear data’ button.

As noted, I had already disabled the deletion of the browser history in all three settings for the entire time range as you described. Nevertheless, the history is sometimes deleted.

The whole thing is puzzling me and it is unfortunately never predictable when the history disappears again. Respectively it seems, that the data is still somewhere as partially available in the top menue (as shown in the screenshot), but not anymore displayed in the total history window.

When that happens and I close the browser, the history starts again from the zero.
