Brave crashes after opening certain sites

Preclusion: I LOVE Brave! It’s the best browser I’ve ever used - beautiful interface, FAST loading/browsing, and lets me customize the functions I need. But it has a single issue that has become a thorn in my side. I’m running a Macbook Pro (2008, 17 inch) with Mac OS X El Capitan, and will not be upgrading to Mojave any time soon.

**Description of the issue: Brave works as it should on most sites, but crashes almost instantly when visiting Google Hangouts, eBay, Skype, and MS Office Online (after choosing a product).

**Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary):

  1. Restarted Browser and visited the sites again; same result
  2. Restarted Laptop and visited sites; same result
  3. Opened Private Window and visited sites; same result
  4. Added Hangouts extension and visited Hangouts site; the extension opens a fully functional window (able to to send and receive texts), but visiting the site crashes the browser.

**Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!): It crashes.

**Expected result: It shouldn’t crash lol

**Reproduces how often: every time I visit Hangouts, eBay, Skype, and upon selection of a MS Office Online product.

**Operating System and Brave Version: Mac OS X 10.11.6 (El Capitan); Brave version 75.0.65.121

**Additional Information: NONE

I found that eBay crashed specifically on the sign-in/register page, and I was able to get it to load by preventing the page from fully loading (click on the ‘X’ next to the page back/forward arrows), and then signing in. Once signed in, eBay works as expected. Still having problems with the other sites.

Can you tell me what happens if you try to view any of these sites while in a Private browsing window? Additionally, when you installed Brave initially, did you import any of your data from other browsers?

Thanks for checking in. When I open those pages in private window is the same as in regular. The entire browser freezes for a moment (3-10 seconds), and then closes. An error message pops up saying that Brave has closed unexpectedly.

I did import bookmarks from Safari, but no other data like passwords or cookies.
