Brave crashes/closes by hitting CMD+W watching a fullscreened video on YouTube.com, losing ALL tabs and NOT prompting on reopening to restore tabs.
Afterward, tapping to open settings will crash Brave every time, prompting to restore tabs, but not the tabs originally lost.
Steps to recreate:
- I uninstalled the YouTube app on iOS to use exclusively the browser.
- Open any YouTube video in the browser.
- I tap theatre button though may be unnecessary, then manually fullscreen the video with the lower right button.
- Using the Apple Magic Keyboard, hit CMD+W with the video fullscreened and playing, and it kills the entire app and deletes all tabs, seemingly corrupting some data.
Environment:
iPad M4 13" 2024
iPadOS 17.6.2 AND 18 beta
Fullscreen mode for a video becomes really dangerous and a single attempt to close a tab may destroy your session. What’s even worse is it seems like the open tabs don’t show up in the history when reopening after the CMD+W explosion, like maximum session damage is done on purpose. This also happens on Chrome, maybe it’s an iOS issue more than a Brave/Chrome issue, but here it is.
