Hello… I thought this issue was fixed back in March 2020?
This is my Brave with just a single Youtube tab open and nothing else.
Imac 32GB RAM Mac (Retina 5K, 27-inch
4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
32 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
AMD Radeon R9 M295X 4 GB
Spikes can occur. I see it occasionally on my m1 Mac book even in other browsers, not a Brave specific issue.
- I would re-test in private window mode, no extensions.
- Ensure you have hardware acceleration enabled in
brave://settings/system

It’s every time use Brave with Youtube 24/7, 7 days a week non-stop.
Hardware acceleration has never been off… and yes same issue with private windows.
Something with Youtube and Brave is sending Kernel Task through the roof.
exactly! cpu is 80% on youtube, fix it!!!

Can you please open the browser task manager (Menu --> More tools --> Task manager) and note which component/process is hogging the CPU?
