Brave can't connect when chrome can

Description of the issue:
Brave has stopped connecting to the internet. Other browsers have no trouble.
This is not the same issue as sfsilks of may 22.
The error message on any address is simply (as below) that the page is probably down.

How can this issue be reproduced?
I don’t know. It just happened. I was trying to watch a dailymotion video https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2kwlx6 at the time. I paused it. Trying to restart seemed to trigger the issue.

Expected result:
Browser should work normally.

Brave Version( check About Brave):

v1.61.101

Additional Information:
Interestingly, I can’t reboot brave.
brave://restart yeilds this message:
The web page at brave://reboot/ might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
I have rebooted the computer twice because I didn’t realise that it was only brave, so thought it was hardware.
At this stage, brave is completely unable to connect to the internet, so can’t be used. All the tabs are greyed.

ADDITIONAL: For no reason at all, with nothing I did, the tabs have suddenly got colour back and the browser is now working again. I repeat, I did nothing!

Not clear as to what was happening here — glad it worked itself out either way. I’m going to go ahead an leave this thread open in case the issue occurs again.

Would test in private window mode

Hello @Big_Monkey

i could think of dns if you using secure dns option in brave while not using it in chrome or using different provider
maybe it was tempereray offline

and this where you can check the option
brave://settings/security

hope that help and have a nice day
