Brave can see website that don't exist anymore

I had a local website on certain port using portainer. After I deleted that container I put another one in its place and somehow even if every other browser on this planet sees the new website my brave browser on this specific pc sees the old one without any functionality(yes I have tried on a different computer with brave)

I tried with brave shield on and off same result.

It works as expected when using any other browser.

My brave version is 1.67.123

The reason that I am not posting the site is that even if I would its a local site.

update by putting www in front of the url it somehow worked

which website? I suspect its a dns. different IP’s on the non-www record

its a docker container that I have. The problem is that the old website doesn’t exist anymore the container is deleted. Plus it only happens on this pc

Which suggests it might just be cached on your device and running off of that.

  • Have you tried clearing browser cache?
  • How about flushing DNS?
  • Checked host files to make sure no entries pointing to the old site?

I figured the solution but it was weird. So I would go to my site by clicking on top sites which I had set to favorite sites. And when I deleted that favorite and re added it. It somehow worked. The website it used to take me had only the login page no functionality at all
