Brave Browser not working properly on Intel Evo Laptop

Hey everyone,

I recently purchased an Intel Evo laptop [https://www.lenovo.com/ca/en/faqs/intel-evo/] and I’m having issues with the Brave browser. Every time I try to use it, the browser freezes and crashes after a few minutes. I’ve tried reinstalling the browser and updating my laptop, but the problem persists.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues with Brave on an Intel Evo laptop? Are there any known solutions or workarounds to this problem?

I would appreciate any advice or insights on this matter. Thanks in advance for your help!

Sorry, I don’t know of anything specific. But a quick search for similar issues with Chrome (which oftentimes yields good results due to the Chromium base of Brave) shows some interesting things that may be similar, however seems centered around Oct. 2021 or thereabouts.

Do you happen to have Chrome on the same system?

What version of Windows are you running? Did you include any driver and/or firmware updates when you updated everything? (Sometimes they’re listed as ‘optional’ or ‘driver’ updates in Windows Update.)

Beyond that, it does sound like disabling Hardware Acceleration might be something to try. You can find this in brave://settings/?search=hardware.
