Brave Browser Is Only Visible When Hovering In Windows 11 Taskbar Icon

Description of the issue: As The Title Says, I Can’t Actually Navigate In Brave Browser Through Mouse And Is Only Visible When Hovering In Windows 11 24H2 Taskbar

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Well I’m Not Even Clear About The Issue But This Happened A Long Before Some 4-5 Months Approximately Which I Ignored Because I Was Busy At That Time

Expected result: It Should Be Visible While Not Hovering In The Taskbar Icon

Brave Version: Release v1.75.181 (Chromium 133.0.6943.141) I Can’t Navigate To About Brave So I Somewhere Manage To Get The Version Release Which Is Latest Stable Right Now

Additional Information: Here In Brave Browser’s Github Repository I Posted About This Issue With Visual Details
Thank You

Any Solution For The Problem

@Rajgothere,
First, can you please update to the latest build of the browser (v1.76.81 at this time) and see if the issue persists?

Additionally, it looks like you’re using some sort of custom theme or app launcher on your Windows system. Can you tell me what that is? Additionally, is this on Windows 11?

Thanks For Your Reply; Yes, I Have Updated The Brave Browser To Its Latest Build But It Is 134.1.76.81 For Me As I’m Using Winget Version,

It Think That Shouldn’t Be The Issue Because And This Is The Listed Installer URL From Winget, Can You Verify It
I Only Use Winget For Installing Updates As I Can’t Update From The Browser Because Of The UI Issue
And Yes, I’m Using Windhawk Software For Getting UI Tweaks But Trust Me It Is Much Recent Than This issue, I Ignored It From Last Some Months Until I Finally Went For It
I Think Windhawk Shouldn’t Be Causing Any Issue Into The Process And Yes, I’m In Windows 11 24H2
You Can Read The Reddit Post Where I Have Posted In Detail And Further In Github Repository Of Brave Which Is Linked In The Original Post

I understand, however I can almost guarantee you that that one of these softwares is what is causing the issue. Brave appears to be installed and even running, it just won’t display properly on your machine.

Disable the UI enhancements you’re using and I suspect the browser will run and display as intended.

@Rajgothere while Mattches is working with you, I will say that as I just popped in and watched your video, I would have come to a conclusion that you just weren’t clicking on the window.

As I’m sure you’re aware, Windows has it set up that if you hover over the icon it will give you a preview of the windows. If you don’t click and just move the mouse away, it minimizes again. The same exact behavior as I’m seeing in your video.

If we assume you really are clicking and it’s not going, then I would wonder if something is blocking that click or is immediately “stealing” the focus. This would essentially go to what Mattches is indicating, that perhaps one of the things you have added is at fault. It shouldn’t be anything that originates in Brave.

Also, in your video you didn’t show if it would work well with any other app/program/browser. Have you tested elsewhere and are saying it’s only Brave you have this issue with?

Oh, and have you ever set up your device to work with multiple monitors? Part of me is wondering if it’s actually opening but it’s running off screen. One way you can check this is to right click the preview and see if it shows Move as clickable, at which point you could use the arrow keys to bring it back into view.

Thanks For Your Reply Again, As You Mentioned About Disabling The Software(s) In My Desktop, I Tried After Reading Your Reply And I Didn’t Got It Fixed
Can’t Figure Out What’s The Issue Or What Causing It
Is There Any Way To Export All Of The Data And Then Just Do A Reinstall, I Think That Can Be A Easier Way To Make It Sort Out

@Saoiray, Thanks For Your Reply, I Appreciate Your Analysis
Firstly, The Issue Is Only Occurring With The Brave Browser Installed In My Windows 11 24H2 And I’m Using A Single Display Output; There Is No Such Issue With Any Other Executable Software, I Confirmed It Before Making The Post.
Yes, Microsoft Gave That Option/Feature From The Version Of Windows 7 And 10 Which I Have Used Personally And I’m Clear About That Functionality In Windows 11 That It Shows A Preview, I Clicked In The Icon After Hovering Over It, I Doesn’t Really Get Visible In The Display, Which Isn’t The Case While Hovering Over The Icon.
Again Thanks For Your Reply, That Helped Me To Clear Out Some Of The Points Which I Might Have Missed.

@Rajgothere rather than exporting, I’d try installing the Beta build (will install as a separate browser, you can uninstall after testing if you’d like) and see if it shows the same behavior.

Thanks For Your Reply Back; Yes, I Installed The Beta Build Of The Browser And Found The Same Glitch With Brave Browser Beta

@Rajgothere,
Apologies for the late reply here – I feel very confident here that the issue has to do with some conflict between Brave and the UniGetUI. I would recommend you test the behavior without the UniGetUI enabled to see if it persists so that we can rule that out.
