Description of the issue:
Type arabic into brave browser on images.google.com, or another website while 3-4 other tabs are open.
Brave will crash pretty much instantly, it will then crash almost immediately on startup after that every time it is launched and becomes unusable.
Last time I had this I remember it was solved by disabling gpu acceleration I think? But that option broke maps.google.com so it was a nonstarter, I re-enabled gpu acceleration to fix google maps but have now typed arabic into brave again and it won’t work. really frustrating issue, hopefully there’s an easy fix.
How can this issue be reproduced?
This is my best guess based on the two times it has happened to me.
- open multiple web apps (quizlet, google images, gmail, etc.)
- open google images and type arabic into the search bar, or better yet into the brave URL bar
- browser will crash
Expected result:
browser doesn’t crash
Brave Version( check About Brave):
latest version from brew install brave
On latest macOS as well
Additional Information:
this has happened to me multiple times now and it’s very frustrating to fix and I don’t know exactly how to reproduce it.
