I have the exact same issue, exact same error code. Started right after 7/17/24 Windows 11 Update.
By copying in File Folders the Brave.exe and renaming the copy “Not Brave.exe” it runs just fine.
Now this won’t work with any Windows system settings of course, so if you have set Brave to default browser, not going to be fun, but you can run the browser.
Same problem, just suddenly happened. Done usual trouble shooting, will try the renaming. I don’t think its a microsoft problem as I don’t allow downloads and block access. Think its a brave problem
I will add that I’m still getting the pop up message whenever one of the ads pops up though, but Brave hasn’t conked out and as long as I use the “not brave” exe, it loads
Same exact issue. Windows 10. Did an uninstall/reinstall and problem still occurred. Using the renamed .exe workaround lets the app start.
Update: Turned off ESET Browser Protection and everything starts fine with the normal .exe. Looks like the problem is with Brave/ESET compatibility with the latest Brave update.
got the same problem today on Windows 10 latest update, with latest ESET installed and after last update of Brave i got exactly the same error code… I went to eset and turned off the “all browsers protection” and voila - brave runs as before… no need to reinstall rename or anything… just that thingy with eset and that it…
I’m experiencing the exact same issue and error code after the Windows 11 update on July 17, 2024. To temporarily resolve it, I copied the Brave.exe file and renamed the copy to “Not Brave.exe,” which allows it to run without issues.
