Are you seeing this issue with Bookmarks in the manager (brave://bookmarks) or in the Bookmarks side panel?
I use manager for most work, editing, sort, etc. Worked fine yesterday before update.
Clarify- I use brave://bookmarks. Have not tested with side bar. Seems to affect mostly folders with larger amount of files. Seems to dup file names/sub folders that hide(overwrite) a different file name but click on dup reveals the hidden file.
As of today, the Bookmark manager is broken for me as well.

The bookmark manager is essentially disturbed, and sometimes dragging and dropping a link to a folder deletes the link!

Restored system to 1 day prior via âTimeshiftâ. Brave v1.70.126. Works fine again.

Was just coming here to respond â glad to hear that the issue resolved with that but Iâm still curious as to why it happened to begin with. Would you be willing to update again and see if the issue reoccurs? Additionally, did/do you have Brave Sync enabled at this time?
Hi, Iâm experiencing a similar issue on Windows. Brave is scrambling file names, creating duplicate subfolder names (clicking on duplicate folder names reveals a file name), and files randomly disappear or reorder when I hover over them. Iâm using Brave v1.71.114 (Oct 17, 2024).

Sorry, too late to retry, I disabled last Brave release ver in Linux UpdMangr after restore. Not using sync at all, never enabled. Hope you find the bug before it propagates to future releases b/c Brave is a great browser.
BTW where is best place to post minor âsuggestion boxâ improvements?
I have this same issue,
in bookmarks manager, bookmarks are duplicated and scrambled, but if I click if the duplicates in the manager, they change to something else.
This is super annoying

Make sure to upvote this bug on chromium as it is posted there by clicking the +1 icon top right so they know others are affected or this will never get fixed (thanks again for link 289wk)
