Bookmark Button Not Creating Popup In Linux Desktop Brave Nightly

Description of the issue:

For at least a week, the bookmark button to the left of the URL entry field in Brave Linux (Nightly build) has not, upon mouse-click, been popping up the usual small entry popup on current 20.04 LTS Ubuntu. However, the “Control-D” shortcut works to obtain the bookmark popup.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Go to any URL or none at all with Brave Nightly Linux.
  2. Click with any mouse button on the bookmark icon to left of the URL field.
  3. Observe that there is widget selection, but no popup ever arrives.
  4. Type “Control-D” to get the popup, as a work-around.

Expected result:

Pop-up window immediately, same timing as for Control-D keyboard shortcut.

Additional Information:

I believe that before the Bookmark Popup would not pop up at all, which began a week or so ago, there was some SLOWNESS observed for at least a few nights.
