Black box covers minimize, resize and close buttons on Brave window

Hello

So far my experience with the new brave has been excellent. I did however come across a problem a few hours ago. Each time i attempt to search something on duckduckgo after launching brave, a big black box forms under the tabs, but over the minimize, resize and close button. I’ve noticed that this is not exclusive to just the search tab on duckduckgo. Some other sites create this problem as well, such as Nexusmods. If all active brave windows are shut down, and brave is then restarted, the problem goes away until i use duckduckgo or visit nexusmods again. This is not a huge issue, but a very annoying one, as it persists even when i open up a new brave window.

Steps to Reproduce.
As i said, this happens every time i relaunch brave, search something using either the search bar or the address bar. After hitting enter, i am given results by duckduckgo, and almost immediately the black box appears, covering the minimize, resize and close buttons on the window.

Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):

As you can see, the black box does not cover tabs, just the buttons.

Expected result:
A black box should not be covering buttons as important as minimize, resize and close.

Reproduces how often:
This issue reproduces each time i try to search something on duckduckgo, or visit nexusmods.

Brave Version:
Version 0.58.21 Chromium: 71.0.3578.98 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Reproducible on current live release:
Yes

Additional Information:
I have not yet tried reinstalling brave, but i was hoping it wouldn’t have to come to that.
This is my very first post on Brave Community, and i would appreciate any help greatly.

Thank you.

@lilbro,
Thanks for reaching out. And congrats on your first post here on Community!

This looks similar to some display issues I’ve seen before but not quite the same. Can you tell me what operating system you’re using?

I am using Windows 7.
I haven’t had the opportunity to test if this happens on Windows 10 as well yet.

Can you try disabling Hardware Acceleration and see if that resolves the issue?
Settings --> Advanced --> System --> Hardware Acceleration

It seems like it did! The black box no longer appears through the steps!
What exactly do you believe to be causing this with the hardware acceleration option?
Thank you very much for your help!

You’re very welcome.
It actually seems more like an issue with the way Windows 7 handles it. You can see a whole host of display problems we had (have, I suppose) with a recent update and Win7:
