Description of the issue: When using an older Samsung Galaxy device on Android 12 with a keyboard connected, Brave automatically focuses on the address bar to type when you open a new tab using Ctrl + T. It’s extremely convenient to open a new tab and start typing just like the Windows version of Brave functions.
With a new Samsung Galaxy device on Android 15 running the same version of Brave (1.76.75), it does not do this and I must use the Ctrl + L shortcut to focus on the address bar before typing every time I open a new tab.
How can this issue be reproduced?
- Open Brave
- Ctrl + T
- Ctrl + L
Expected result: The address bar should be in focus on Step 2.
**Brave Version( check About Brave
): 1.76.75
Mobile Device details: Galaxy S10 series running Android 12 and a Galaxy S25 series running Android 15
Am I missing something? Perhaps there’s a setting I can change? Or if not, could the Brave team make it so the browser autofocuses on the address bar when opening a new tab if a keyboard is detected? It’s an extremely nifty feature and one that I am perplexed why it’s missing.
