All tabs open with "untitled" and "Aw, Snap!"

Clicking on the “hamburger tab” and “Settings” and I get the “Aw, Snap!”
and “Untitled” This happens with all websites.
Windows 10,
Just loaded the latest version of Brave
Avast 1 anti virus
Not sure about “network defense”
no adblock, only used “brave ad blocker”
I will check on the “hosts” file later tomorrow.

Trouble loading Brave Browser Settings, when visiting any/all websites.

Yes including Brave “hamburger” settings

Please edit your Original Post (“OP”), above, to include:

  • Computing device OS
  • Brave Browser version numbers
  • List of extensions that you may have added:
    • that are anti-virus
    • network defense
    • adblock / adguard capable.

Have you created an additional Brave Browser Profile, for testing?

Have you tested: New Window vs. New Private Window?

Also, please examine your computing device’s “hosts” file, for any entry that includes the word: “brave” (example “hosts” file):

If you have Microsoft Edge, is it having the same or similar trouble?

For some reason I am unable to get the “host files”.
The page I have open is now showing two website that did not work several days ago, but all others still give me the “Aw snap”

I opened the host files and searched for “brave” and found nothing. I closed all of my browsers and reopened Brave and now everything seems to be working now.

Well, that didn’t last long. Now the tabs that are open refresh fine but unable to open new tabs or get links in current tabs to open. Even the “settings” in Brave do not open! What is going on?

Entered " brave://settings/clearBrowserData" in new tab and it opened. Cleared the browser data and also clicked on the send reports for helping diagnose problems. Had to restart Brave and now there is nothing. Back to the “Aw, Snap” for all tabs.

Reinstalled Brave now have three tabs open but they won’t open links, but will refresh. New links open to blank page with tab showing “Untitled” Clicking another tab then back again gets the “Aw, Snap!”

Now it is working correctly. I guess we will see for how long.

Again it didn’t take long. This morning it is back to doing “untitled” and “Aw, Snap”

Doing it again. Stated last night still not working now. 4tabs open but won’t refresh nor open links in other tabs.
