Hello Forum,
I am curious as to know what custom filters, if any at all, are recommendet with Brave Shields Agressive protection enabled?
Does the Steven Black Hosts file work/make sense?
And how often does the Brave AdBlock Updater run?
Cheers

You may create your own custom filters:
brave://settings/shields/filters
That requires, your learning how to write them. There are instructions at AdBlock / AdGuard websites.
Steven Black hosts - files at Github
βhttps://github.com/StevenBlack/hostsβ
Experimenting and finding what works for you, wonβt hurt.
Brave Browser components (including updates for the AdBlock feature) are run as a matter of routine - you (normally) do NOT have to trigger an such an update. When you start up Brave Browser, the browser checks in with the update service (you might call it).
Thank you for your reply.
Regarding the Steven Black hosts list, does it actually work in Brave - Android ?
The hosts
file is not something inside an application (such as Brave Browser).
Location in Windows OS folder structure:
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
Location in MacOS folder structure:
/etc/hosts
Location in Android folder structure:
/system/hosts
BUT to edit that hosts file on an Android device, you would have to study up on the how to, because normally, users do not have access. Gaining root access.
