When i add manually search engine, for example “ya.ru” i cannot select it on the New Tab Page.
If you add the below link to your query field in Site Search do you still see the issue? https://yandex.com/search/?text=%s
@Evan123 I think part of what they are saying is stuff in Site Search don’t show up in some of the search related areas. For example, I have Yandex that I added a while ago:
But if I wanted Yandex as my Search on the New Tab Page, it’s not an option:
had one hidden in scroll, so here’s that
Clicking on Customize available engines just takes us to the search engine area where we can add site search and all.
So I’m guessing they are referencing that? And I’m not sure how the quick search would work on mobile devices but I’m assuming it’s not going to read any manually added search engines (site search) either.
@Itlur can you confirm though what you mean by speed dial? If it’s about shortcut and all, then it should work like Evan123 mentioned. For example, I have mine below:
And if I do my shortcut of !y it will do the search, such as below:
I need another URL “https://ya.ru/search/?clid=2353835&text=%s&lr=191”
Thanks for your advice about the shortcut in the address bar. I think it would be good if the browser had the ability to add search engines not only to the “search site” list, but also to the main list of search engines, so that I could select the added engine in the search field on a new tab. Or you could provide the ability to pop up a panel when typing in the address bar, where I could choose where to search for the typed text, in duckduckgo.com or ya.ru.
