Description of the issue:
I am using the Save and Share
/ Install page as app
feature to be able to use GMail as a regular desktop app (as opposed to one of the many tabs, in one of my many browser windows).
This is a great feature, and I can’t live without it.
The problem: as many people, I have 2 GMail accounts: a personal one and a work one. Thus, I would like to have 2 separate “apps”. This seems to be impossible. Once you have “installed” GMail once, you cannot install it again, even if the URL you’re trying to install is different from the one installed first.
How can this issue be reproduced?
- Have 2 GMail accounts
- Go to the first one - the URL should look like:
https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#inbox
Save and Share
/Install page as app
, now you have GMail as an “app”- Go to your second GMail account, the URL should look like:
https://mail.google.com/mail/u/1/#inbox
- In
Save and Share
you no longer have the install option. Instead you haveOpen in GMail
.
Expected result:
It should be possible to “install” whatever URL even if one already exists. Maybe I’m missing something, but why was this limitation even implemented?
