YouTube ads showing before video starts on Brave Mobile

Description of the issue:
For the last couple of weeks, YouTube ads seem to be bypassing Brave’s Ad-Blocker on my cellphone. The ads are usually short ones that can be skipped after 5 seconds. So far, I haven’t seen any double ads or ads that can’t be skipped, but still annoying.
This issue has also been reported here and here. In the second post it was suggested that I

[…] open m.youtube.com and click on padlock, site settings, Click clear and reset. Refresh page. Re-test youtube, see if ads show.

Did not work.

Screenshots Examples:
Here are some examples of ads that have been appearing to me. The last image shows what my Brave Shields settings are.

Does the site function as expected when Shields are turned off?
Yes, YouTube shows ads normally when the Shields are turned off.

Is there a specific Shields configuration that causes the site to break? If so, tell us that configuration. (yes/no):
Yes, if I turn on ‘Block Scripts’ the videos won’t play at all (nor will the website show anything).

Does the site work as expected when using Chrome?
Yes, but it shows ads.

Brave version (check About Brave):
Application Version: Brave 1.22.71, Chromium 89.0.4389.114
Operating System: Android 10; Mi 9 Lite Build/QKQ1.190828.002

Try enabling Cosmetics in brave://flags, refresh

As a test, add the following into brave://adblock (not sure if it’ll work)

youtube.com##+js(aopr, localStorage)
youtube.com##+js(aopw, localStorage)
youtube.com##+js(aopr, sessionStorage)
youtube.com##+js(aopw, sessionStorage)
youtube.com##+js(acis, sessionStorage)
youtube.com##+js(acis, indexedDB)
youtube.com##+js(aopr, indexedDB)

Ok, I did it! I’ll test it out for the next couple of days and let you know! Thanks.

@fanboynz I tested your suggestion, but some ads still slip in eventually, especially for mainstream videos. Any other suggestions?

You could try,

  1. Close Brave
  2. Clearing app cache/storage. then relaunch

I’m not how this will affect any BAT settings
