Windows - Whole app window turns black on pages with videos

Description
The entire Brave app window (including tab bar, address bar, etc) turns black on most websites containing videos until the video starts playing.

Exact URL of the website in question:
All sites with embedded videos - x.com (Twitter), blogs, etc.(not tested on YouTube yet).

Does the site function as expected when Shields are turned off?
The issue does not happen when Shields are off.

Is there a specific Shields configuration that causes the site to break? If so, tell us that configuration. (yes/no):
N/A

Does the site work as expected when using Chrome?
I don’t use Chrome and refuse to install it, so I can’t say.

Can you please try launching Brave, going to Settings --> System and toggling the Use graphics acceleration option “off” and see if the issue persists afterwards?

This resolved the problem. I will mark as solved however this is a pretty spectacular failure mode…
