Why no .apk for brave in github page (really frustrated)? (Solution: Google Play Store's new policy & .apk is coming)

I do not like google store for updating my Brave. I usually update the browser from the github page. https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/releases - but from the last month there was no .apk files on that page for android. Instead it comes as .aab which is not straight forward and easy. Why did brave giving .aab files instead .apk files? Does this has any advantage? Can you please go back to .apk files? (@Mattches can you please address? Thanks)

Is anyone using this page to update their brave browser? Is there an easy way to install .aab files?

One solution suggested from my earlier post is:

to use this app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lifesavi.bundle&hl=en&gl=US). But I always get error message. I could not install .aab file using this app as well.

Now for updates I totally depend on google playstore which I do not like at all.

Thanks.

@nellaiseemai,
This is due to a new requirement from Google Play store:

Note that we are looking into options for generating/including .apks in the future as well.

@nellaiseemai,
Appreciate your understanding.

Please consider this another vote for an .apk. I’m working hard to deg00gle my life as much as possible (my phone now runs a deg00gled Android).
