Description of the issue:
Just noticed a number six on my desktop brave logo or emblem cannot seem to find any help or information as to what it denotes or is indicating to me

Your screenshot doesn’t appear to have uploaded, but if you mean the little icon in right end of the address bar of the Brave window, that indicates how many ads/trackers are blocked on the current site. Example:
If you mean the dock icon, I don’t know; if there’s a setting to show the same information there, I can’t find it.
I don’t know what happened with my first picture download. but yes thank you for acknowledging the post , I should have been more clear in the docking station as you can see the number six I just don’t know what the number six stands for.
Looks like the number of downloads, the blue arc being a progress indicator. I tried going to MacUpdate.com and downloading Slack while Dock Hiding was off and got this:
I use Brave Dev (the blue one) as my main browser, keep beta on hand for experiments, and main release brave is the one with the number in it showing downloads.
So, my guess is you had six downloads going at some point that were interrupted. To check it, pull down the Window menu in the Mac Menu Bar and select Downloads. That should open a new tab with a list of downloads done or in progress. You can delete them, restart them, or whatever from there and the number should clear.

The numbers that you’re seeing in the macOS dock is the number of downloads that you have currently going. You can check what’s being downloaded or has been downloaded by visiting brave://downloads.
