What does this number on the Brave icon on my Mac mean?
I asked in the Brave subreddit but could not get an answer.

It indicates the number of files being downloaded. If it’s stuck on that number, maybe some downloads were paused or interrupted?

I’ve cleared everything from brave://downloads/ and checked the downloads folder for anything pending, but still seeing the “10” badge. Is it possible it’s something else?
It should be clear if you’re no longer downloading anything. Did you recently stop/cancel/interrupt any downloads? Also how long has this icon been displayed there?
Any extensions installed?
Lastly, if you remove the icon from the dock, then re-add it does the badge still appear?
It was like that with the badge for a while. Several weeks
