Vimeo will not play

Description of the issue:

Vimeo videos do not play on my android browser. I have tried clearing my cache, shields up and down, resetting the site settings. These changes have no effect.

How can this issue be reproduced?

1. Open any Vimeo video
2. Press play

Expected result:
video should play

Brave Version( check About Brave):
Brave 1.75.181, Chromium 133.0.6943.141

These videos play for me normally without issue on Windows, macOS and Android platforms. It could potentially be a browser extension you have installed at this time – can you confirm whether or not disabling your extensions have any effect?

Thank you for replying. There are no extensions. I wouldn’t even know how to install an extension on my android browser.

@Venushka apologies – you posted in Desktop support with the Android tag so I wasn’t entirely sure which platform you were using. I’ve gone ahead and moved your thread into the correct category.

Can you please try clearing cache/site data for Vimeo? To do this:

1. Launch Brave on Android and visit Vimeo
2. Tap the “tune” icon to the left of the URL
3. Tap Cookies and site data
4. Tap the “trash” icon to clear data for the site

Refresh the page and try viewing Vimeo content again.

As far as clearing the cache and site settings, I’ve tried this with no change.

There is no error code. The video simply doesn’t play.

Strangely enough, when I advanced the video there are “screenshots”, but the video will not play and there is no sound.
