Unable to sync my new phone onto my Brave chain

Tried to sync my new phone onto my Brave chain. However both my mobile phone and laptop will provide me with a QR code and code words, but neither has a “I have a QR code/code word button”.

I hit the ‘add a new device’ button.
I hit phone (from my laptop)
I get instructions “On your mobile device, navigate to Brave Sync in the Settings panel and click the button “Scan Sync Code”. Use your camera to scan the QR Code below”
On mobile device I go to Brave Settings. I scroll down and find Sync.
I click and tap “Add New Device”
I click “Add a computer”
Then that gives me a QR Code and Code words.
At no point on either my laptop or phone do I find "I have a QR Code/code words.

Phone: Google Pixel 8a
Android version: 14
Brave version:
Version 1.71.118 Chromium: 130.0.6723.70 (Official Build) (64-bit)

@Hugomax sorry been so quiet, but also see you didn’t respond back to the one person who did try to help. Have you been able to get this resolved or are you still having issues?

On your laptop where you have the Sync chain created, go to brave://settings/braveSync and then Manage your Synced devices. Here, click View Sync code to view your code words, or click Add new device --> Phone/Tablet to view the QR code.

Now, on your Android phone, go to Settings --> Sync --> I have a Sync code. From here, you can use the code words or QR code to Sync your devices.
