Tabs don’t appear when using the “New Tab” option

Description of the issue: When using the “New Tab” option after long pressing the Brave application, previous tabs fail to appear

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Ensure the Brave browser is not already opened on your iOS device.
  2. Ensure that you have tabs already opened.
  3. Long press on the app and tap “New Tab” in the menu.
  4. Observe how none of your previous tabs appear in the tab manager.

Expected result: Existing opened tabs would still appear but the browser would simply create a new tab and show that to you.

Brave Version( check About Brave): Version 1.45.1 (
Edit: I just installed the newest version of Brave (Version 1.45.2 ( and the issue persists.

Mobile Device details iPhone 13, iOS 16.1.1

Additional Information:
The tabs are still opened in the browser but Brave does not show them. You need to close out of the browser (force quit) again and re-open it to see your tabs again.

A video is attached to demonstrate the issue. After closing the app, I re-opened it and my tabs were there. This was not included in the video as an animation would show all my open tabs - which I would prefer not to share.
