Search not working in many cases

I installed Brave but can’t search (Google or DuckDuckGo) e.g. if I type ‘soccer’ in the URL/search field I get “This site cannot be reached” and this is the same for most things. The internet connection is fine so am I doing something wrong or not completed the setup correctly?

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Could you kindly use guest mode to see if the issue persist? If that works, please try disabling your extensions to see if this is the cause of the issue.

  1. On your computer, open Brave.
  2. At the top right, click Menu → More tools → Extensions.
  3. On to the extension you want to remove, click Remove.
  4. Confirm by clicking Remove.

Actually there is something else wrong. I cannot do these searches with Firefox either (I could yesterday) but I can with Edge/Bing. It looks like Microsoft has interferred. I don’t know how yet (any ideas welcome) but will keep trying.

P.S I couldn’t see where to set Guest mode.
