Description of the issue: I personally use Brave for classwork, and I’ve never used the profiles feature. All of a sudden, this bug keeps happening. If I close and re-open the browser, it doesn’t create the profile. Then, if I close Brave and don’t touch it for about a day or so, then re-open, I will be greeted with Profile 1.
Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary):
Quit Brave
Restart Brave
Second profile is created by default
Actual Result: Unwanted second user profile is created.
Expected result: User profile shouldn’t be created without user intention.
Reproduces how often: After every restart
OS and Brave Version: v 1.20.108

So with respect to Profile 1 specifically, there is a known Chromium issue where Profile 1can’t be deleted. I am looking for the issue we logged for it now but am having some trouble tracking it down. I’ll reply when I have it, but would like to note that it will likely be an upstream fix.
