Browser does not delete all checked privacy on closing.

Description of the issue: When I open the browser it opens at the last page used instead of the page specified by me. It also does not delete the specified items on closing.

How can this issue be reproduced?

Expected result:

Brave Version( check About Brave): Latest android

Mobile Device details Samsung Galaxy Note 9

Additional Information:

You need to close that tab / close all tabs to make sure you’ll not see that on launching. It’s default in all browsers I think.
Also go to Brave settings → Brave shields and Privacy → scroll down to an option saying close tabs on exit.

Voila!

Hello @SmartyAadi

As @SmartyAadi said, you need to close that tab, close all tabs to make sure you’ll not see that on launching. It’s default in all browsers. Additionally Please try to open a new page using private mode or guest mode.

You can open a Guest Window by going to Main menu --> Open Guest window.

Let me know if that works and have a great day!

Thank you. I just checked with the settings and I already have it checked to close tabs on exit. I also have it checked to open at a specific page address but it often ignores that setting. I also have it set to delete all history, cookies etc on closing but it doesn’t do that either. On the other hand if i go to the handset bottom left and pull up and close whatever shows then it does then open as it is set to open. Browsers are the one thing I have never liked in Android. It’s a fact of life that we expect browsers to work like they have always done on Windows.

Thanks for the suggestion re Private/guest mode. I haven’t managed to locate that option yet but I’ll keep looking.

Hello @ukenterprise3

Thanks for your reply we appreciate the details. In order to get a Private window, you’d have to

  1. In Brave, open the main menu, then Settings --> Privacy
  • Note: You can also select Menu --> History --> Clear browsing data
  1. Select Clear browsing data

If you need more information, visit this link. Please, let me know if that works and have a great day!
