Poor Google Meet video performance in Brave (but fine in Chrome, Safari, etc.)

Description of the issue:

My webcam video is very choppy in Google Meet, but not in other Chromium based browsers such as Google Chrome (or Safari for that matter). Works fine in Zoom app too.

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.

  1. Open https://meet.google.com/$MEETINGID
  2. Join meeting (w/Logitech StreamCam selected).
  3. View self.

Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):

Blurry head movement, washed out slightly? Also partially clipped on left side of face (facing camera).

Expected result:

Smooth movement.

Reproduces how often:

Every time.

@prdonahue thank you for the report.
Not seeing this on my end using latest Brave build on macOS Sequoia 15.5. Could potentially be due to Graphics Acceleration – can you try disabling this by going to (in Brave) Settings --> System --> Use Graphics Acceleration [...] and toggling this option off? You’ll have to relaunch the browser after changing the setting.

Toggle the setting off and start a Meet call again and let me know if the video quality is improved at all.
