Text appears scrambled/garbled when using Google Meet’s mini pop-out or Picture-in-Picture (PIP) feature in Brave Browser.

When using Google Meet in Brave Browser and enabling the mini pop-out window* or PIP mode , text (like chat messages, meeting titles, or buttons) becomes distorted, showing random characters, lines, or corrupted visuals. This issue doesn’t occur in other browsers (e.g., Chrome, Edge).

  • The bug is exclusive to Brave —no issues in Chrome/Edge/Firefox.
  • No obvious errors in Brave’s console logs (via DevTools).
  • Problem persists across all meetings and screen resolutions.

Please edit your Original Post (“OP”) above, in order to include:

  • Brave Browser version numbers
  • Operating System version numbers

Whatever is your Operating System (?!?!) . . . review all screen sharing settings.

And review all Brave Browser Privacy Settings:

Along with, in a Brave Browser New Window, go to:

  • brave://settings/clearBrowserData Advanced tab

Time range: All time

ENABLE:

  • Browsing history
  • Download history
  • Cookies and other site data
  • Cached images and files

Click Clear data

Exit / Quit everything and Restart your computing device.
