Pages in different tabs getting cached when I navigate away from them?

When I switch away from one tab for a while, Brave appears to be reloading the page when I return to that tab. It’s never done this for me in the past and is not a great UX when using Metamask-connected sites or sites that take a few seconds to reload.

Reproducing this:

  1. Using latest version of Brave in Ubuntu 16.04
  2. Open any site (I’m using https://www.tradingview.com/chart/jEpmiM9r/)
  3. Open a new tab, navigate to any site, and stay there for 5 minutes
  4. Return to original tab

Expected result:
Page on original tab will have reload again before it shows up
