Option to not be nagged to install a PWA

I just responded to the one negative PWA-related post I found via search, but I don’t see it in the list. So I am going to add a new post, here.

=====================================

I hate the fact that (apparently) no browser has a setting to disable the “Install {app name here}” appearing in the URL field. Animated or not. It’s distracting, it’s annoying.

Not everyone thinks PWAs are cool; not everyone wants to be nagged to install a PWA; some of us just want a simple browser experience, without being forced to have a PWA option - even if it’s not automatically installing the PWA.

I just want to have a browser experience where I’m not asked/prodded/nagged to do something I really don’t want to do. Especially when it’s not a security feature, or something that’s actually beneficial to the user experience. PWAs are not beneficial; they are lazy, and badly implemented.

If you like PWAs, great. I have no problem with you liking PWAs. I have a problem with programmers who add a feature to an application that he/she thinks everyone will love, without providing an option to not be exposed to said feature, and making it part of the UX/UI with no choice. No matter how “cool”, “chic”, or “%!$&@* awesome” it is.

There is no option or flag setting to disable the nag “feature” to install a PWA?

DEVS! Please! Implement an option to not be nagged to install something that I’ll NEVER, EVER USE.

When will developers/programmers understand that just because something can be done doesn’t mean it should be done?

Why bother making “upgrades” and “features” that users who want a simplified experience can’t disable?

Speaks volumes about the staff dedicated to enriching UX/UI.

And, no, not in a good way.

I have not yet found any reports on spacebar.news being an unreliable source of information.

Considering that there are requests being made by users that are ignored by Brave developers/programmers/designers, I’m not so sure I want to continue using Brave.

Combined with the fact that there are extension/add-ons developers who point-blank state in their descriptions that support in Brave browser is not available. Apparently for “good reason”.

Brave, change my mind.
