Description of the issue:
WINDOWS-DESKTOP: Using brave://flags to enable PWA capabilities (same as in Chrome), does not enable PWA support or ServiceWorker behavior for Desktop.
Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
- Enable PWA “brave://flags”
- Try this public site to see if prompted via intrinsic installer, or check hamburger for install…, and note that this site does use
beforeinstallprompt
. But it does not matter whether it uses or not. I also have many PWA’s on private servers and they do not work in Brave either, even though they work in other browsers.
Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
Expected result:
Prompt to install desktop PWA
Reproduces how often:
100%
Brave Version(about:brave):
Version 0.60.45 Chromium: 72.0.3626.109 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Reproducible on current live release (yes/no):
Yes
Additional Information:
I am pretty expert on PWA standards and technology. (lol, Hi Brendan, Ben! - its DSim/Formerly Architect at MSFT owning JavaScript).
