PWAs (Progressive Web Apps)

Why does the Brave team continue to add/remove PWAs (Progressive Web Apps) on the desktop? The last update removed the ability to Customize/Control Brave>Save & Share>Create Shortcut>OPEN AS WINDOW, enabling the page you want to open as an app. Now it seems the webpage one wants to open as an app MUST be built as a Progressive Web App (i.e., “install as app option” on the web address bar). Can y’all bring back PWAs for all webpages? Thanks.

I’m not an expert/heavy user of PWAs but have you looked in brave://flags/ for PWA options?

Also, I believe, it could be a Chromium (Google controlled) thing and not so much a Brave thing that’s frustrating you but :man_shrugging: as I said, check the brave://flags/ and good luck

Interesting, it’s possible it might be a Google thing. I’ll check brave://flags/. Thanks!

@czar1611 You could still change settings in brave://flags as mentioned.

Brave actually has heard the complaints and is rolling out a fix. It looks to be on Nightly first and will make its way to Release. I’m just not sure of the ETA before it’s the default option again.

@Saoiray It worked! PWAs are back —for me, anyway. Thank you!
