On win7 installation error 54

Hi guys,
Does anyone know what causes the error 54 after a installation failure.
Is the latest version of brave even compatible with win7 32-bit? as i had 1.15.76 installed previously with no issues but since doing a clean install brave wont install and it keeps downloading and then saying failed due to error 54?
Even an older version of brave from 18 months ago failed again with error 54 as the reason?

Also does windows7 need any updates added before brave will work as in KB2999226 universal c+ runtime?

That was the only update added after the fresh install.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and sorry to hear you’re having trouble with Brave. Could you kindly follow the steps below:

  1. Make sure your internet connection is working normally. Brave will automatically resume the download. You can also resume the file download by clicking the Down arrow —> Resume or Menu. —> Resume .

  2. Try to download the file later.
