No way to disable brave passkey integration

Description of the issue:

I’m trying to sign into my google account, to do so I usually use a passkey that’s saved in 1password.

However with a recent update, even with onepassword installed and managing password settings, brave is still hijacking that and asking that I give it bluetooth access so it can do some passkey thing.

I don’t want brave managing my passkey I want to use 1password.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Install onepassword in brave
  2. Try and signin to a site that uses a passkey
  3. Get a brave popup request for bluetooth access with no way to disable that

Expected result:

Brave doesn’t ask me for bluetooth access and just lets me use 1password like normal.

@paulcdejean make sure you turn of the option for Brave to offer to save passwords and passkeys in brave://password-manager/settings:

This should stop Brave from making those requests.

My screen looks like this here:

You can see the offer to save passwords and passkeys setting is disabled by 1password, and I don’t have the option to modify the setting.

I think there’s some bug where it being disabled in this way disables the passwords but not the passkeys or something.
