Mobile Brave Translate Feature Not Working Properly – “Oops, this page could not be translated” Error

Description of the issue
I am experiencing a persistent problem with the translation feature on Brave browser for mobile (Android/iOS). Although I have enabled the “Use Brave Translate” option, the translation does not work correctly.

When I try to translate a foreign language webpage, after a brief loading, I receive the error message: “Oops, this page could not be translated.”

Sometimes, the automatic translation prompt shows “Page translated”, but the page content remains in the original language without any actual translation.

Clearing the browser cache temporarily fixes the issue, but the problem returns after a few minutes.

Unlike desktop, mobile Brave does not allow access to brave://flags or support extensions that might help.

I am using the latest official Brave version (Brave 1.79.123, Chromium 137.0.7151.104) downloaded from GitHub.

Steps to reproduce
Enable Use Brave Translate in the mobile Brave browser settings.

Visit a website in a foreign language (e.g., French, Spanish, etc.).

When the translation prompt appears, click Translate.

Observe the error message “Oops, this page could not be translated” or the message “Page translated” without actual translation.

Clear cache and try again to see a temporary fix.

After some time, the issue recurs.

Expected behavior
The page should translate correctly when clicking the translate button.

The automatic translation prompt should reliably indicate translation status and actually translate the page.

The translation feature should work consistently without needing frequent cache clearing.
