"The page could not be translated" when I try to translate Portuguese websites

I’m trying to translate a Portuguese website to my native language Spanish, but I keep getting the error message “The page could not be translated.”
I keep clicking Try Again and it doesn’t work.

  1. It used to work correctly for a few seconds.
  2. I get the message “The page could not be translated.” on Portuguese websites, but it works fine on English websites.
  3. I keep clicking Try Again and it doesn’t work.

I want this to be fixed

Brave 1.79.123 (Official Build) (32-bit)
Chromium 137.0.7151.104

Is there a way to fix this or do I have to switch from 32-bit to 64-bit to fix this? I would be really grateful if you could help me fix this.

Thank you for the detailed report. I also cannot translate this particular page. I’ve forwarded this to the Translate team for review and hope to have more information for you soon.

I have the same problem. The translation doesn’t work on Windows, Linux, or Android mobile. It also doesn’t work from English to Spanish, and the detected language doesn’t work in Spanish or any other foreign language. I hope they can fix it soon because I use the translation daily.

I do have the same problem with multiple pages that used to work fine a day ago (before updating to last version although I’m not sure that is the problem).
It is not language specific since I tried a russian web, a Hungarian and a german one, all of them to English (and they used to work fine before yesterday). Haven’t tried english to Spanish though since I’m bilingual in English/Spanish. You can try to translate any page in https://m.vk.com/ to english, for instance, and it won’t work…

I’m also bilingual in Spanish/English, but I hope this problem gets fixed so I can translate pages again automatically without having to use Google Translate by copying and pasting the URL.

We’ve made a fix on our end and this issue should now be resolved. Please let me know if this is not the case for you.

Well, at least it’s finally working on some websites

@Mattches In my case, the English to Spanish page works, and it translates well from my native language, Spanish. However, there is a language problem detected. It doesn’t translate to Spanish, and it tells me the following message: “This page cannot be translated.” I would like you to fix this, but before, it was fine, but now it doesn’t work anymore.
