Mendeley Data incompatibility?

Description of the issue:
Mendeley Data is a repository of data and various files related to scientific publications. For some reason, I cannot view the individual project pages on Brave even with all features enabled. Instead, a “dataset not found” page is displayed. I can view it on Firefox, Chrome, Edge. Why doesn’t Brave work?

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
Example links, try opening them on Brave and other browsers.

  1. https://data.mendeley.com/datasets/mh8krrtwb5/1

Reproduces how often:
100%

Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):
Windows 10
Version 0.65.121 Chromium: 75.0.3770.100 (Official Build) (64-bit)

@taduncombe,
Thanks for reaching out – good report as well!
Apologies but how exactly do these open? I’m only offered the option to download the datasets or view them in “preview” mode, which states that the mode is currently “unavailable”?

Thanks for following up.

In a non-Brave browser (where you can actually view the project page) it’s normal that you can’t view the preview for certain file types and can only download them. For Firefox & Chrome I could view the preview for a compatible file just fine (but not in Brave, where I get the same error I described above): https://data.mendeley.com/datasets/yhb7c64shv/1#file-3aa36500-6867-45a3-a945-df8589d74f3c

I just noticed that it works just fine for my Android Brave app. Just not on my Windows browser.

This is what I see when viewing the link you shared above. Same in Android browser --very strange. Can I ask what your Shields settings are set to?

My shield is turned off.

I noticed that on another Windows laptop of mine this problem does not exist. I have no idea why this laptop is having issues: Windows 10 Asus Zenbook UX305

@taduncombe,
Can you try clearing cache/data for the site and attempting to view the data again? Alternatively, you can try logging in using a Private browsing session and see if this works for you (which would point to a caching error).
