Cannot Preview PDF in Browser

I cannot view PDF files in the browser. There is no real description in the error. Just says “problems displaying”. I checked for available extension but found none.

I’m running W10 and this version of Brave:
Brave is up to date

Version 0.56.12 Chromium: 70.0.3538.77 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Any advise?

Yeah, we have a litany of PDF issues we’re currently hammering out - apologies for the inconvenience while we do so.
Would you mind sharing a screenshot of the error displayed?
Also, a link to the PDF you’re attempting to view would also be helpful if possible. If it requires authentication of some kind or contains private/sensitive materials then obviously don’t send.

Thanks, cannot share PDFs in question but sometimes they work, other times i can just see the first page with the spinning (thinking) icon waiting to open the rest of the document. All are the same size and page count range. Eventually I get this:

Try opening the PDF in a new tab and in the new tab, open your Shields panel (lion icon) and disable all Shields protections by using the toggle button on the top right.
Let me know if this loads the PDF file.

I have a similar problem. My attachments in emails fail to open (Godaddy Webmail). Using Firefox they open automatically in a different window. With Brave a window opens, but replaces the email window I am viewing and shows a red line with the words "An error occurred while loading the PDF" the more information box gives the following: “PDF.js v2.0.673 (build: 31012570) Message: Failed to fetch”. When I click to go back to the email I was viewing, it has closed and returned to inbox page. The browser is of no use to me if I cannot open the attachments in my emails. Tried what you have mentioned above, shields off. Also tried moving the file to a new tab, but it just opens my inbox email page again. Also tried on two different laptops, Always same problem.

@david0707,
You’re likely running into this error here:

Yep, if I click the download button, it downloads and I can view it in Edge, that will suffice.

Thanks
