Make it possible to use keyboard shortcuts in the address bar (space, tab or both) when "Show autocomplete suggestions in address bar" is turned off

Turning off autocomplete suggestions in address bar and using keyboard shortcuts to select which search engine you want to use shouldn’t be mutually exclusive features but, unfortunately, they are.

For many users (like me), it’s annoying to get those suggestions as we type in the address bar, hence, we turn it off. It doesn’t mean, though, that we don’t need the keyboard shortcut feature. We do!

The way these two features are currently entangled forces us to make a choice between tolerate the autocomplete in order to make use of the shortcuts or doesn’t have access to this feature at all, and this is bad.

That’s why I ask the Brave team to consider implementing a way to be able to use the shortcuts while the autocomplete is turned off.

Thanks!
