Logging into Facebook (normal & private tabs)

Hello,

For ages now I’ve not been able to login to Facebook. I enter the correct email and password all the time and i login to Facebook on my mobile without any issues and also on other browsers on my desktop, it’s just Brave, both normal & private tabs. I enter the correct login details and the page loads another login box but this time with my FB profile avatar and my name, and only the password input box, without any error validation message (as it’s the correct password). I proceed to enter the password again, click login and the page reloads exactly the same. I’m stumped.

i’m using the most up-to-date version on win11: 1.71.114 ( 130.0.6723.58 ) if that makes a difference…

any help much appreciated, i much prefer Brave, especially on social media. I also disabled all my extensions.

Can you try clearing site data for Facebook and then trying to login again? To do this easily, visit facebook.com, then click the “tune” icon on the left side of the address bar, then Site settings --> Delete data. Reload the page then try logging in again.

Hi, yes I did that, there wasn’t even any site data. I saw this step in another thread

I have a couple more quick tests we can try here.

First, can you please try opening a guest profile (Menu --> More tools --> Guest profile), closing your original profile window so that only the guest profile window is open, and try logging in there?

If that doesn’t work, can you please try downloading the Beta build of the browser and test to see if you can login using the Beta? Note that installing the Beta will not overwrite or interfere with your current Brave install.
