I have the exact same problem, everything, including messanger and instagram works perfect. But with facebook I have to sign in to every single time. I tried to remove “2-factor authentication” as you suggested and the only thing that did was making the constant sign in a tiny bit quicker - hence; it did not resolve the problem.
To make it even more strange, it works perfect on Brave on my laptop which I have synced with my desktop.
I tried to reset settings, made no difference.
Same here, but weirdly enough this doesn’t happen to me on Instagram, only Facebook and Messenger, which also are working fine on my Android phone; so for me it’s limited to those two pages on my PC. The only thing I didn’t try is removing the 2FA just because I don’t wanna do it, the login drama is a bit annoying but I don’t really browse on facebook that much. If someone comes up with another solution it will be very appreciated.
You shouldn’t have to disable your 2FA in order to stay logged in, that doesn’t seem like a great solution to me.
That said it is strange that it is specific to Facebook and not other sites — even other sites that are owned by Meta. Here are a few things you can all try and check to see if they resolve the issue, but first lets check and see if the issue is isolated to your profile or if it is something to do with Brave specifically.
Anyone here experiencing this, can you please create a new test profile (make sure your original profile window is closed) and login to Facebook using that profile, then close and reopen the browser and tell me if you stay logged in there?
Testing in a clean Brave Beta profile, logged into Facebook. Then quit, relaunched Brave Beta and was still logged in. Have noticed Facebook is checking vpn locations, using a vpn may affect FB logins
I have the same problem being logged out of FB every time I close Brave on my laptop.
So I reinstalled Windows 11 Enterprise and installed Brave again [
Version 1.60.118 Chromium: 119.0.6045.163 (Official Build) (64-bit) with standard settings.
Again it is only FB that is the problem. All other sites are ok like Youtube, Flickr, mail accounts etc.
What is very strange is that FB does NOT ask me for two-factor verification even though it is turned on. However it keeps saying that I log on from a place that I do not normally do and ask me to verify that it is me over and over again even though it saves the browser.
If I then try to turn two-factor identification off I am told that I cannot do that as I am logged on from at place I normally do not log on from. Very strange and very annoying.
Just wanted to say that after two days the problem has suddenly disappeared. I turned on my laptop today and FB does not require me to log in again and again. I have not updated anything so it is quite strange.
Everyone having this issue, someone else just said that it resolved by resetting brave://flags to default. Can you check if perhaps this makes a difference for you?
Same problem as described here don’t ask me for 2FA even if it’s on, and I have to tell it’s me that’s logging in (from the same browser I log in from).
And like most of the other comments it’s only on this laptop, and not my desktop or Phone, even though they also sync.
Looking into this but I still think it’s specific to the profile. I’d like everyone to try testing the behavior with a new profile (make sure your original profile is closed) and also try downloading the Beta build of the browser and the the behavior there as well.
